It's Christmas 1905 Three year old Mimerle wishes to have a little child, just like the one her mother is loving, pampering and bathing, just like her baby sister.
Her wish comes true. She receives the very first Käthe Kruse doll "Oskar"! Made from a potato, a towel and some warm sand, his lifespan is a little short so Käthe Kruse sits down once again to create more wonderful dolls.
Five years later, Käthe Kruse participates in an exhibit called "Homemade Toys" in Berlin. She becomes an overnight success and revolutionizes the doll industry.
Nearly 100 years have passed since Käthe Kruse started her doll production. The Käthe Kruse Doll has numerous friends, doll-lovers and collectors varying from young to the not so young, all over the world.
Kathe Kruse Dolls - a German Legend
The Kathe Kruse Doll Studio is the oldest German doll company that is still existing and working in the traditional way. Handwork, simplicity of design, integrity, and an aversion to gimmicks and fads are still very much a part of how the dolls are made. Each doll and item of doll clothing is made by hand and takes from 16 to 36 hours to make. During that time, it will pass through the hands of 8 to 10 craftspeople and artists.

(The Oeko-Tex system assures that textiles which have been

phtalates - making them
very safe for your child.
Kathy's range of organic toys are all natural and unique in design. Kathy Kruse use only
