Since this ring is very stable, it is great for babies that start pulling themselves up and can be used for babies that are learning to stand or walk. Just be careful since your baby may be able to push the ring around once they can stand and you want to make sure the ring is always in a safe area, not close to stairs or other unsafe areas. We love this baby gym. Its taking our baby through so many developmental stages. We got it when our baby could only lie in the circle and bat at the toys. She loved the bee because of its sweet face. Next, she enjoyed sitting in the center of the gym and pulling on the toys. Then, we would stand her up on the outside of the frame. And shed enjoying playing with the balls on top. Now, she pulls herself up to standing on her own. And shell even (once in a while) stand in the middle and push the frame and move forward ever so slightly. I also like using the gym to get her to walk around the perimeter of it. I place one of her favorite balls on top just out of her reach, and shell very cautiously step around to get the ball. When she drops the ball, Ill pick up and move it so she has to take a step or two to get the ball again. In this way, my baby has walked around the entire gym. Of course, I praise her, and Im a proud mama. But I really couldnt help her develop these skills without the baby gym. It was a wise investment. Thank you, Ape2Zebra, for carrying it!
