HABA TOYS are Natural

Haba's natural wooden toys are manufactured at it's site in Bad Rodach, Germany.  Haba purchases their wood, primarily Maple and Beech wood from long-term regional partners.  Wood is naturally resistant to bacteria which makes it a great material for toys especially baby toys, baby teethers and baby grasping toys.

Hard Wood’s natural and mechanical characteristics (especially that of Beech Wood and Maple Wood), in combination with a design of clear colors (to still show the warm grain of the wood), and shapes are the most suitable for a good toy.

Haba only uses baby safe, water-based ecological solvent free lacquers on the surfaces of their wooden toys. Multiple lacquer layers render the surface of the toy extremely resistant to humidity, saliva and wear and tear, allowing the toy to be taken from the hand to the mouth at any time.

For Haba, toy safety is a priority. Haba Toys meet the European Toy Safety Guideline 88/378 EWG for both materials used for toys and manufacturing of toys and also comply with US Toy Safety standards.  Since we are a Canadian based retailer, you can also be assured that Haba Toys sold from our store also complies with the Canadian Toy Safety Standards, which happens to be more strict than that of the US.

Haba is very careful about selecting toy manufacturers across the word. Haba regularly visits all the toy production sites and have rigorous quality controls in place for the testing, inspection and quality control of Haba toys.

Prior to releasing a toy into the market, Haba Toys involve independent institutes to verify the safety of the materials, the engineering process and to conduct mechanical endurance testing and to test for the actual use of Haba Toys and products.
